Biography

Evgeny Shirokov

Evgeny Shirokov is above all a painter. An artist for whom landscape is not an external motif but a means of attentive and focused conversation with the world. His work holds no desire for effect, no accidental beauty, no gesture for its own sake. His painting is built on precise observation, inner discipline, and a rare ability to see in nature not a subject, but a state.

Shirokov works within the tradition of the realist school, yet his realism is neither dry nor descriptive. He does not copy what he sees but translates it into painterly experience, where light, air, the silence of space and the subtle relationships of colour hold particular importance. This is why his landscapes are perceived not as depictions of a place, but as a whole mood — a slow and deep presence within nature.

A Living Creative Journey

A Living Creative Journey

In this painting one senses the experience of a master for whom form long ceased to be a problem and became a language. From this comes the calm of his tone, the confidence of his brushwork, and his respect for the subject. His works require no external commentary and seek no dramatic impression. They rest on the authenticity of sight, a sense of measure, and a fidelity to the very essence of landscape painting.
